Chapter 1: Crop Production and Management

Chapter 2: Microorganisms – Friend and Foe

Chapter 3: Synthetic Fibres and Plastics

Chapter 4: Materials- Metals and Non-Metals

Metals and non-metals are described physically and chemically  in NCERT Class 8 Science Chapter 4. The NCERT book includes activities to help explain these qualities  better. The uses of metals and non-metals are detailed towards the end.

Chapter 5: Coal and Petroleum

This chapter discusses natural resources and how they are classified. It teaches that coal, petroleum, and natural gas are fossil fuels that were produced millions of years ago from the dead remains of live species. It then clearly explains how coal is converted into coke, coal tar, and coal gas. Petroleum refining is also covered in this chapter. The concept of natural gas is also discussed. The chapter concludes by reminding students that natural resources are scarce and must be used carefully.

Chapter 6: Combustion and Flame

Students will learn about combustion and its various kinds in this chapter. With the help of activities, each concept is beautifully conveyed. The firefighting measures are also mentioned in this chapter. Following that, the concept of flame and its structure are discussed. The chapter concludes with a discussion of fuel, its efficiency, and the detrimental repercussions of burning it.

Chapter 7: Conservation of Plants and Animals

This chapter focuses on deforestation and its causes, as well as the effects of deforestation and methods to protect forests and wildlife. It also discusses biosphere reserves, flora and fauna, endemic species, wildlife refuges, national parks, red data books, migration, paper recycling, and finally, reforestation.

Chapter 8: Cell- Structure and Function

Students learn that the cell is the smallest living portion of an organism in Chapter 8 of NCERT Solution science.  They will discover that cells come in a variety of shapes and sizes and that the quantity of cells in each creature varies. The structure and function of the cell are detailed . The various components of the cell are described in detail.

Chapter 9: Reproduction in Animal

In this chapter, students learn about the two ways of reproduction in animals, sexual and asexual reproduction. The topic of sexual reproduction is discussed in-depth. Students learn about male and female reproductive organs, fertilisation, embryo development, and viviparous and oviparous animals. Asexual reproduction is discussed towards the end of this chapter.

Chapter 10: Reaching the Age of Adolescence

Students learn about the role of hormones in bringing changes to the human body and transforming a child into an adult in NCERT Class 8 Science Chapter 10. The chapter begins with an explanation of puberty and adolescence. The following sections outline the changes that occur throughout puberty.

Chapter 11: Force and Pressure

Chapter 12: Friction

This chapter discusses the friction force, factors that influence friction, and how friction may be increased and decreased. The issue of fluid friction is discussed at the end of this chapter.

Chapter 13: Sound

Sound is crucial in human life because it allows us to communicate with one another. In this chapter, students learn everything they need to know about sound, including how it is created, how it travels, how we perceive it, and why some sounds are louder than others.

Chapter 14: Chemical Effects of Electric Current

This chapter helps us know the good and bad conductors of electricity. It also goes into detail about the chemical effects of electric current and electroplating.

Chapter 15: Some Natural Phenomena

Some of the natural disasters which cause destruction are lightning and earthquakes. Details of these natural disasters are explained in this chapter, and it helps students become more aware of natural events and how to protect themselves from them.

Chapter 16: Light

The world is full of vibrant colours and lovely objects. This chapter explains how we can perceive the world around us because of the light. The law of reflection, regular and diffused reflection, and multiple reflections are all covered in this chapter. It also mentions that sunlight is referred to as white light and that it comes in seven different colours. A diagram is used to explain the human eye. The chapter concludes with information on how to take care of our eyes and how visually impaired persons can read and write.

Chapter 17: Stars and the Solar System

The heavenly objects, the moon, stars, and constellations are discussed in this chapter. Following that, the solar system and the characteristics of each planet are described. Other members of the solar system, such as asteroids, comets, meteors and meteorites, and artificial satellites, are also included in this chapter.

Chapter 18: Pollution of Air and Water

This chapter informs us about the detrimental changes that are occurring in our environment as a result of air and water pollution, as well as their impact on human life. The chapter begins with an overview of air pollution and how it occurs. The impact of air pollution on the Taj Mahal is then described. The greenhouse effect, as well as solutions for reducing air pollution, are also discussed. Following that, the chapter addresses water contamination and how it occurs. It concludes with a description of the process of purifying water and controlling water pollution.
